Church looking for a new Sunday morning Bible study leader

At the weekday Bible study, the pastor announced that he wants to be free Sunday mornings to greet people as they enter the sanctuary and he can't do that and be the Bible study leader, too. Someone said I should be the one to do it, but there's another person that attends the Sunday morning study that I think would be more qualified and I said so. The person that nominated me said, "True, but he can't hear." This is correct - he's so deaf, you could sound an air horn next to him and he wouldn't flinch.
Between when the former study leader left the church and the pastor started doing it, there was another person, but I was the only one that showed up for his study - that's when the pastor took over.
Right now, I don't know where the dust will settle.

Having been nominated, should make you feel good.

When I was in a Bible study..so-time-ago..there was a little socializing..ahead of the study..everyone brought something "to share"..coffee and tea..church provided.
It was lead by a couple.

Good Luck..if you do "take-it-on".
