Cities Or States You Definitely Wouldn't Live In

One thing for sure, winter temps in northern and northeastern Florida are definitely not that warm sometimes.

No Smog Inspecton either. A person can tell this due to all the “rattling” and broken exhausts around.

I believe compared to the northern states, even the panhandle winters are mild. Certainly no digging out of snowbanks in Tallahassee.

Not...Nevada because it's land-locked and Las Vegas is just not me.

Not...California because the politicians there are ruining the state on multiple levels. Cities are finally standing up against them. For one, Huntington Beach is the latest of a growing number to take a stand against CA gov't. I lived San Diego in the 80's and it was wonderful but all that is left is a pretty sunset and nice weather. However, the price you pay for it is too much for most everyone unless you're homeless with benefits or you enter as an illegal immigrant with benefits. LA is considering a motion now to provide housing for every homeless person including soap towels amenities, etc. One homeless person said LA is known as homeless paradise. The word is getting around too I'm guessing.

Actually, much colder than we would have ever thought any part of Florida would get. It has been so cold that my wife has worn here white winter coat and a scarf around her neck to work in the AM.

So cold, a person can see their breath in the AM.

So cold that people have to scrap frost off of a vehicle windshield.

Oh The Horrors, The Horrors!

Texas is one place I will never be.
1971, A long haired skinny 17 year old kid. Minding his own business. Enjoying his constitutional right to unfettered movement through out his native country. Conway, Texas,, Standing by an on ramp looking for a ride. Beat up old Ford passes by, circles back, two filthy drunk cowboy boot wearing sons a bitches, literally just plain kick this shit out of me. I'm sitting there with a busted rib, bleeding from my mouth, nose and just generaly all over. Cop car pulls up. Was he there to serve and protect? Not me anyway, I didn't stand up fast enough for him so I was flipped face down into the dirt and pinned with he knee on my neck while he hand cuffed and searched me. He then opened my pack and strew the contents to the winds. Not one word about my condition, after half an hour or so of general harassment he told me if I was there when he got back he would arrest me for vagrancy.

Nope I won't be going to that hole ever again

I hate the heat and wouldn't live in any states with hot weather, I like to be where I can enjoy the four seasons.

No to Detroit,Flint Michigan
No to NYC,although I was born and raised there.
Florida and most of its neighbors are to humid and stormy.
California is to shaky and expensive.
Guess I'll stay where I am.

I wouldn't ever live in Washington, DC again, nor in any big urban place. I love the south, but can't stand the heat and humidity and the 10-pound bugs. I would up and die in the heat of Nevada or Phoenix. It gets too hot for me in the summer here where I live, but it's doable with a good swamp cooler most days.

The crime rate is getting a bit out of control here, though.

Never say never. My daughter came here to North Carolina (from Denver) 4 months ago saying she would NEVER EVER live in North Carolina. "I don't like anything about it", she said. She's leaving now for European travel for 4 months but said when she returns, "if I live in NC I want a dog". I asked, "What?! You would live in NC?" She she smiled and said "Yes."

Well, we'll see. I have this feeling she'll stay in Europe. She's got multiple job offers there that are awesome, will meet her soul mate, marry, and stay.

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and love it here. Retired since 2010 and enjoying it ever since. We prefer the urban lifestyle since we appreciate diversity, being people of color with a lot of LGBT friends.

Will probably sell the SFH in the next few years to move into senior living nearby. Going to be hard narrowing down all the choices, altho a lot of the new facilities opening up are for-profits.

We've been fortunate and have a comfortable lifestyle. The weather is great here - and if it isn't, you just go in a different direction for 30 miles and it's entirely different, LOL. Always a lot to do, beautiful scenery, all the services one needs delivered to the doorstep. Very convenient, plus a wonderful mix of people.

LOL, this Thread is suppose to be about cities-states a person wouldn’t live in, not one they love living in.

Was in San Fran while in the Navy. Didn’t like it then. We, like many who live in parts of Colorado and all of the Rocky Mountain States, aren’t much into “diversity” and definitely not the LGBT area’s.

I have always hated the cold. I have been in 48 states and the only one for me is Florida, south of the Anclote river (south of Tarpon Springs) and on the gulf coast.
I have lived in NY, NJ, AZ and FL, plus spent military time in VA and CA.

Well, many do like, even love, Florida.........but definitely not us any more. Have come to find out in the last ten years, Florida just doesn't have what we really, really miss we really miss about the Rocky Mountain States. We aren't a "beach" type couple. We absolutely loved the mountains (in Colorado) and seeing big rack Bull Elk and moose. Florida definitely isn't a "rodeo" state and we really miss freshwater lake boating and fishing.

But, like I said, there are plenty of people that do love Florida.........that is, until a tropical storm or hurricane hits.

Any state that is hot and humid is not for me. New Jersey frequently gets a bad rap and it is expensive compared to other states. I live in Northern New Jersey in a rural area. I can get to the ocean in a couple of hours, New York city in a little over 1 hour and the mountains and lakes are right nearby. I have access to it all. I'm happy here.

Having lived for the last 40 yrs in a place where there is racial and sexual diversity is taken for granted as an everyday part of life, I wouldn't move anywhere that did not offer the same.

But, this is you and not everyone feels like you do about racial and sexual diversity.

Some cities and states have very little, if any, of either of these and it doesn’t both any of the citizens that live there.

I don't understand what you posted. Please clean up your response.

Not all cities in America embrace diversity as well not everyone in America likes it, or that much of it. Parts of Colorado aren’t diverse at all and most of Wyoming, Montana and definitely Idaho aren’t.

In many areas of the U.S., the demographics is very different than other areas.

Some people wouldn’t live in a mostly White area, while many would and do.

Different people like different things and others don’t.

Understand now?
