I have a friend who lives on Hood Canal in Puget Sound. He gave me a nice bag of what we call "steamer clams" yesterday and I whipped up a version of New England Clam Chowder. Wondering if others are as big a fan of chowder as I am and what you like?

Well, for clam chowder I fly to Seattle and eat at Ivars....LOL. Really, that's the last place I had clam chowder....a year ago. Spoiled, I am.

My other fishy dish is oyster stew and I go over to our favorite restaurant on the Intercoastal and had a big bowl. I can make it myself at home, but it tastes better sitting out on a deck and watching the boats go by. If I make it at home, all I get to see is the squirrels going by. No fun.

Big fan of the N.E. type. Whenever I go to the coast, I'm on a quest for the best. So far, San Luis Obispo gets the trophy.
I make my own, and it's pretty good, but I have to make a whole pot with potatoes in it, and they just don't freeze worth a damn, so I just watch for it on menus (Usually on a Friday), and quite often, it's my go to thing.

I can't even remember how long it's been since I've had clam chowder... hmmm, I'll have to think about making some. šŸ² Now Oyster Stew, although not a chowder, is my very favorite and I think I'll have to make some this weekend now that I'm thinking about it! 🄣
