When we decided to buy our 1st Big Screen we walked into Best Buy or whatever store it was and as I got to that
section... Boom, bigger than life right in front of me Clapton! I stood there lost in this video of Layla (unplugged).
Salesman came over and asked "Can I help you find something" Not moving my head I simply said "I'm not moving till
he's done singing" I heard my husband tell the salesman.. "We done lost her for 3 min now"

Not that one it was huge but eventually we did. I did buy tickets to see Clapton in Chicago shortly after :giggle:
We (Zappa/Mothers) were the underbill for The Cream's "last" tour stop at the Chicago Coliseum in April of 1968. Clapton, Bruce and Baker were all fabulous musicians. I learned a lot watching Ginger Baker. Clapton sat in with us a few times in L.A. and other cities. Of course we all did some drinking in those days...

Zappa/Mothers music were my ,Viet Nam draftee generation's choice of music about 2/3rds the way into a party. You had to hit that sweet coming out of mellow into a touch of frustration feeling to really sing along with those songs well; Now I have a question for you. There was a song called "Up Against the Wall" Did Zappa/Mothers ever record that song or was it another band? Added note here, my husband was at that concert and rubs it in my nose every 4-5 years.

No, IrishEyes, I don't ever recall MOI recording that song. I think it was David Peel. Same era though.
Did your husband enjoy the show? It was a pretty good one.
