Clothes or shoes you feel good wearing, (a perfect topic for a forum friend!)

Yes, to all of the above, I wear croc sandals in and around the house almost all year.
I've talked ad nauseam about these $15 sandals I got at Wal-Mart to wear around the house. Still loving them and bought another pair in case something happens to them.
I don't mind paying for good footwear but I guess these just go with my feet.
I have $15 feet! 👣

Reviving an old thread due to some humour that I must share. The cordwainer who made these shoes text me recently askking if I had a photo, and would I be happy to share it. Chances are he wants to put it on his website. How do I know? Seeing my grey multi-striped blazer and just about everything else, he texted back:

Very droll!

When I was working, there was nothing that made me feel better and more confident than attending a conference with new suits, shirts and ties. Now, what makes me feel good is wearing my gym clothes and tennis shoes and not having to pay for new dress clothes.
That's a comment that I can empathise with. When you are at the supermarket you might occasionally see the truck bringing in the replenishment stock. That vehicle would have come from a distribution centre that keeps a given number of stores supplied daily. In my working life I was the head honcho of one of those distribution centres.
A suit, tie and plain polished shoes gave kudos to the rank of manager, it's what I wore daily. In such an enviroment a suit has a limited shelf life, regular dry cleaning helped but within a year the suit looked tired and jaded. A new suit was called for. To save on the cost I would buy a suit in the January sales, a suit that is probably 50% or more, polyester, but hard wearing. It would fit the bill perfectly.
In my social life most of what I wear is made to measure, I can indulge in classic styles and bright colours, the polished black shoes give way to two tone spectators, the suit got replaced by a blazer and wide fitting, high waisted trousers and hand made just about everything else. It does help when you have a very talented lady who can make most of it. Clothes are a guilty pleasure, always have been.

I wore power clothes during my working years, it was like wearing a disguise. 😉🤭😂

The truth is that I never really made it out of the 70s, think Nana Mary.

The few clothes and shoes that I have don’t really vary much and are on a three year plan.

New casual for special occasions, presentable for running errands and meeting friends, old rags to wear around the house.

I spend less than $100/year on clothes, I actually spend more on a good pair of walking/hiking shoes every year.

Having spent most of my working life having to wear smart outfits, mostly in shades of black, grey and navy, my retirement style is very different.

It's colour now that makes me feel good and socks! Yes, socks! It always makes me smile to wear a pair of colourful socks even though they are mostly invisible under trousers/jeans. In fact, I have some cropped jeans which I wear mostly to show off my favourite socks! :ROFLMAO: Maybe I am rebelling against all the black, grey and navy years or, perhaps, I am just going slightly crazy but, yep, colour makes me feel great ;):)

Lovely to see some past forum members - Grahamg, NorthernLight, GaryO and Charry - posting on this old thread. x

When I was a young lass, I loved to dress up when going out to the local dances. Stiletto shoes were my passion but couldn't afford to buy them often. Now as a senior I still love to dress up when going to the shops. My favourite colour is Orange, and I always manage to wear something Orange in my clothes. I have a favourite 3-piece suit I bought for myself for my 21st. birthday, and. I have a lovely photo of myself wearing it. I told my boys, that is what I want to wear when I depart this life. I know the undertakers will have quite a job trying to get me into it. We always have a laugh at that one.

Like @Trish, I love colour, especially lime green. My dressier clothes retired when I did. Mostly I live in jeans. I have a variety of tops of different qualities. I can’t stand to wear the nicer things when I’m doing something messy. There’s no need for me to change when I head out to the store. It’s cold and I’m bundled up in downright weird hats and mitts. My coats are bright; I need to be seen by traffic.
