Didn't know this. Always used cold water detergents since they advertised better results.
- Energy Savings: Cold water washing can save energy, as a significant portion of the energy used by washing machines goes into heating water. Switching to cold water can reduce energy costs by up to 75%.
2 - Fabric Protection: Cold water is gentler on delicate fabrics, such as lace and silk, and can help prevent shrinkage and fading, which is more common with hot water.
2 - Stain Removal: Cold water can effectively remove many stains, including protein-based ones like blood, which may set into fabric when exposed to hot water.
2 - Environmental Impact: Using cold water washing can have a positive environmental impact, as it reduces the energy consumption associated with heating water.
