Cold water for laundry

WIthout going into all the reasons why - since it would unnecessarily take too long - my washer is not even connected to the hot water, just the cold. Everything turns out fine, and colors last longer. Even if I could, I wouldn't get the hot water connected.
Same here, only use hot water in a bucket to soak dirty white collars and cuffs or stained tea towels.

I use hot water for my sheets, towels, washcloths, and all cloth items that I use in the kitchen. We can’t see dust mites, but I have read that they live in everyone’s bedding and the only way to kill them is with hot water.
Would the heat from the dryer be enough to kill any critters that didn’t drown in the washer? 🤔

Not being critical, I use hot water in the washing machines in the apartment complex laundry room because it’s always a concern to me what others before me may have washed in those machines.

I‘m pretty certain any critters won’t drown in my stupid HE washer.

That’s a good point about being concerned about what others have washed prior to you. The last thing I took to the laundromat was my mats that sit at the doors. They get rather dirty. They did come out clean.

I don’t know. Anyone with allergies and asthma should be using hot water for bedding, etc.

That's what I was told.

Same...when I lived in an apartment.

My wife is real picky about washer temps because hot water ruins some of her clothes, she says. Normally, only our towels and bedding get a hot wash.

Answering because I just googled this morning. It’s to kill the dust mites that might cause allergies and asthma.
Cool. Ty. I'm sure the same applies with copd too. I usually wash with hot because I just don't feel like it's clean with cold water.
