I think at this age most of us know "our colors". It took me a long time to figure out how to stop buying clothes I'll never wear.
Once you know what works then style and body type follow.
I bought my husband a sweater once. It was a beautiful burnt copper color. He wore it one time in 20 years and by then I knew why. It was absolutely not his color.
He looks good in cool tones and that sweater was very warm toned.
The simplest start is to put gold jewelry and then silver next to your skin. Which looks better? If it's silver, does bright silver or a duller tone look better with your skin?
Anyone else ever have your colors done or get a professional stylist?

Never had my colours done professionally , but I've watched colour advice online in the past....I've not really followed it tbh.. except one where it said at this age never to wear Black next to your face.. ..

I am very fair skinned and Blonde .. but both Gold and shiny silver looks good on me.

I don't suit colours which drag the colour out of me like grey's, beige , dull greens , mustards... or maroons and purples..

I suit Emerald green.. Reds.. baby Pinks, ( not cerise) Baby blues'.. and Mid blue.. Navy blue.. Chocolate brown..

Whites drain me now.. so I look for something more cream but not beige...

I read about it years ago, and decided I'm a Fall. I can usually tell what colors I can wear. When in doubt, holding it up in front of a mirror will tell me immediately. One purple makes me look good; another looks terrible.

I wear black because it's convenient. Also, I wear silver (instead of gold) because it's cheaper. So I'm breaking the rules. But knowledge of color theory saves me from looking sick.

Just about the only "color" I wear is khaki/olive drab. It does suit me.

Of course now, my skin is not the same color it used to be. I wonder if our colors change with age.

I wear only the colors that resonate with me, and these are few and specific.
I can't wear gray or beige. Those colors make me feel invisible.
I think each color carries it's own vibration and These have an effect on you somehow.

I don't know, @NorthernLight, from your picture, your skin seems to "glow". You have a beautiful complexion!

No pink or yellow for me because it just doesn't look good on me. Also no white or tan/beige because I don't like it whether it would look okay or not. I like dark purple (wearing it right now actually) but the lighter shades like lilac wash me out.

Sounds like you are a Spring moving towards Summer.

I don't pay too much attention to the colors I wear as long as they do match some but when I see a woman wearing purple it causes a strong reaction inside of me. I don't know what it is about that color but it has a very powerful affect on me.

Excuse me while I go change. I'm wearing deep purple and I don't really want to find out if that strong reaction is a good one or if you'll start throwing things at me! @MarkinPhx

Don't forget tone and hue (?).
Once I knew my colors I saw a pretty blouse in a store. It was my colors but I didn't wear it. Why? Because it was the bright and shiny version. I need soft, dusty, muted versions. The bright would look lovely a Winter but not on this Summer.

I think I like the red best.
I don't wear red very often.. compared to blues.. just the odd T shirt
