Died Nov 7, 95 years old. Commander of the Apollo 8 mission to the moon. Probably no one cares but me, as I helped to make that project possible. Rest well, Commander.

December 1968. I was 11 years old and very much into *everything* that was space related. I would love to hear the story about how you helped with the mission!

Nothing all that spectacular. I helped build some of the parts that went into the space module and lifting rocket. I'm proud I did good work and nothing malfunctioned.

Sounds pretty spectacular to me! Definitely something to be proud of, getting those three men back to earth safely!
