comparing notes- school hours these days

Comments in the Daylight Saving Time thread led me to ask this:
if you have young family members or neighbors who attend school, approximately what time do they leave for school in the mornings?
The reason I'm wondering is the new "thing" around here is starting school much earlier. This morning, for example, I was woken up by the bus beeping for little neighbor kids a few minutes after 6 a.m.
So I was wondering if this is a nationwide trend, or if it's only here.

We live in New Jersey,when I was a kid in the 50s we started school at 9:00 at 3:15 we were dismissed.
My kids started around 7:30.
Now it is even earlier. Yet they seem to get home quite late. I guess because of all the working moms and school functions.
No time to play outside,such a shame.
I couldn't wait to get home and change into my play clothes. These days I doubt they know what play clothes are.
