Compliments...

Over 30yrs ago I would watch a little girl who lived up my street. Her Mom worked and she would keep her daughter locked in the house. She had never even meet her father. At the time the little girl as about 8yrs old. When I approached the Mom I offered to watch the little girl. Years later they moved away. A few weeks ago the Girl saw my name on facebook. She asked for my email and then sent me the most beautiful letter. She told me that she never knew what was true love until she as in my house. She said she saw how much I loved my husband and children and how I had showed her love that she had never seen before. She has no contact with her Mother and lives in another State. Her Mother refuses to even have her visit. Her letter touched my heart and now we have kept in touch.

Recently, a tree in my back yard fell on my neighbor's balcony. He left a note in my mailbox. I called a tree company & had them remove it the next day. I gave the neighbor the company's insurance info (so he wouldn't have to worry about damage, liability, etc.) I also told him, "If there is any damage to your balcony from the tree, let me know immediately."
He told me I was very nice.

I used to run a business out of a booth in an antique mall. There was a couple there that also had a booth. I talked to the woman sometimes, but didn't know her well. Mrs. B looked to be in her 70's, a plus sized women with unkept gray hair. She wore sack like dresses in drab colors like olive and gray. I hadn't seen her in a long time when I struck up a conversation with a woman working in her booth. I assumed the woman was Mrs. B daughter~She looked to be in her 50's, was slim, wearing colorful slacks, looking very put together with her red hair in a lovely haircut and makeup. After she left I was talking to another woman and asked if that was Mrs. B's daughter. She told me it was Mrs. B! I was shocked! She said that Mrs. B's neighbor had spread rumors that Mr. B was having an affair with a young knockout redhead. Of course she didn't know about the transformation of Mrs. B! It's a big compliment when people mistake you for your own daughter {even when you don't have one}.

A lady at the grocery store in a nearby town where I was shopping stopped me and said she loved my sweater and I was all set for autumn and then she said "You go girl!". It did make me feel good but I was wondering if she really thought I looked awful and was just trying to make me feel better. I have trouble accepting compliments I guess. I did tell her thank you.
