Lying is definitely worse. My third husband was a horrible liar.

.......why she would lie about insignificant things, when there was no reason to lie.

My sister, who died of Alzheimer's last June did that her whole life. She was always very easily upset, flustered, felt cornered, was not a brave person. Confusion & being overwhelmed can make a person lie. It stems from some kind of fear. This I have gathered from Life. Fear is the basis of all negative "qualities."
