Consumer ratings

No matter if you're looking for the best dish washing detergent or a new car, you're going to get a gamut of ratings depending on what source is the reference. Seems to me there'd be SOME agreement! Who are you going to believe?

I subscribe to "Consumer Reports." I don't believe everything that I read, but I have found them to be the most credible.

I do "Reviews" on Trip Advisor website and am told that my reviews are very helpful. Sometimes I do "Reviews" for products we buy from Best Buy, Petsmart and some other stores. I also read "Reviews" from people and those "reviews" have helped us before with making the decision "buy" or "don't buy".

Gee, when retired, what else would I do with my extra time. LOL

It's so hard to trust reviews these days, even those in the sacrosanct CR. You just can't know when they slip in a shill or two to offer up praise for something that isn't really that good.

Internet reviews are even scarier - it's the Internet, for gosh sakes!

That being said, I try to offer honest reviews when I buy a product from Amazon, and what people think of my review is up to them.

I've done a few reviews in the past when requested by the seller, and try to give an honest evaluation of the product and do not exaggerate any pros and cons for drama. I agree with Phil that there are some people who are paid to give good reviews on certain things, or just jerks that exaggerate their dissatisfaction with something, way to release their anger, lol.
