Convicted Murderer Scott Peterson's case taken by Project Innocence

My argument to that is, "So if your friends are jumping off a cliff you will too?"
The other differnce between CA and many other states, not all, but many, is that CA has a lot more gang members than other states. Hundreds of thousands more. surv_8.html Gang Populations in Los Angeles County, California Report 2015-130

E.g. is Vermont a gang-infested place? It's not known for that. Illinois is. Hawaii? Jersey probably has a lot of them and look, they have kept their felony level quite low.

Again I ask, if your friends are jumping off of a cliff, does that mean you should too?
YOU singled out CA, not me, and your comment suggested CA's level is an anomaly. My response was to point out that $950 isn't a terribly different threshold than other states' misdemeanor to felony levels.

Not sure why you have such an axe to grind with CA. If you live here and don't like it, nobody's forcing you to stay. If you live elsewhere, congratulations on finding Nirvana.

Because I don't want the rest of the nation to become like California.

What I see in CA news is more hit-and-runs than in any other state and most of those perps don't get arrested. I see racism for decades in CA. I see public policy that uses the homeless to create the Homeless Industrial Complex, creating many jobs for social workers, doctors, nurses, drug pushers, and NGOs, but no actual affordable housing ever. Or highly inadequate affordable housing (not enough and mostly devoted to families).

Do you know that "landlords" are now buying RVs, parking them in L.A. County, and renting them out? No L.A. law against that. The RVs are not attached to any sewers so the residents often dump sewage down the storm drains and that goes straight to the beaches, untreated.

I see Group Think used in the legislature to make major decisions - no actual investigation of the issues, but a lot of "this sounds very woke so let's do it." Latest example: Ebony Alerts. Do you know what those are? Those are just like Amber Alerts but for a Black child. Was there any real need for this new law or the expense of implementing the new addition to the alert system? Don't all Black kids fall under Amber Alerts because they are children?
But, hey, it's a nice little "Hello" for the Black community. Can't give all the homeless Black adults housing, but darn it, we're especially concerned about your missing children. It is a pandering, insulting new law, in my opinion.

Do you know that all the counties of CA made Ten-Year Plans to End Homelessness back in the 2000s but none of those actually got accomplished? Why? Because the RE lobbies don't want rent or housing prices to fall one iota. USC says the state needs at least ONE MILLION new housing units. If they build those, and make 30% of them affordable, that might make rental prices drop overall, will create more competition for current landlords, the landlords don't want more competition, so the state and city councils will not build affordable rentals.

The ONLY projests that get approved are Luxury Apartments. They start at about $2,000 for a single. If the renter gets approved at 50% of gross income for rent, the renter has to be making $48,000 a year. Poor people do not make enough to get an apartment. Most or many of them will never earn enough.
Do you know that Seniors, 50+ are the fastest growing population iof homeless in CA? The fastest-growing homeless population? Seniors

Do you want these living conditions all over the nation? Why? Why are hit-and-runs, homeless grandparents, unsolved murders and people paying 50% of income for rent PARADISE to you? Why is that your vision for the rest of the nation?

Peterson's ex attorney Marg Geragos says there's a good chance the Innocence Project will succeed because they are not a fly by night organization. He's says the burglary across the street raises question including the date it actually happened. He says the date the prosecution used would put too many reporters in the area(Dec 26) vs the Dec24 date it also could've happened.

There was lost evidence and they want a burnt mattress from burnt van found in the area around the sametime as burglary/her disapearance tested for Laci's dna.

Yes. There was so much that could have been going on there it merits further investigation. The Peterson Case was a capital murder case meaning there was a death penalty phase. If a man is going to pay for a crime with his life, no stone should be left unturned. Just my opinion, of course.

"Because I don't want the rest of the nation to become like California."

My goodness, you sure have a grudge against California. Wonder why?
I lived in California for 14 years before moving up here. Finished my nursing degree there. They treated me pretty good.
I find it extremely hard to believe California is more racist than some areas of the South - or southwest for another race. My Dad - who was from New York was one of the most racist people I have ever known - so was the rest of my father's family. They were awful! This whole country is racist - it just depends on where for the racism involved!

Off topic but I don't think some realize how diverse California is. Just start with land. It's not all Malibu and San Francisco. We have lakes (yes many natural lakes), forests, beautiful rolling hills. I'd love to go on a tour of the caves near Redding in Northern California. We have a long coastline with beaches and cliffs. But that's not all California is.

And all kinds of political leanings.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of what happened to Peterson's wife. And if he did, or if he didn't is something I leave up to a jury. But I believe the media circus at the time of the trial latched on to the news that Peterson had cheated on his wife, totally influenced the proceedings. That news and the overwhelming media coverage of that fact may have turned the jury against him. The so called "other woman" was giving multiple interviews . Infidelity makes him a cad, it doesn't necessarily make him a murderer. I think the intense media coverage convicted him way before the jury came in.
My question is whether the jury was influenced by that coverage. I'm not buying that none of the jurors were unaware of the 24/7 media circus on their doorstep.

I have been to almost every state and California is definitely one of the most beautiful. There’s a reason it’s so expensive because it’s such a desirable place to live. In fact next month I’m going to San Luis Obispo for a week with a friend.

A lot of commentators like Nancy Grace probably helped propel that during the trial but she is reflection of what many really think. In some respects innuendo plays as much of a role as physical evidence during many a trial.

SLO is charming and gorgeous! If you can manage it, visit Morro Bay and/or Pismo Beach for lunch and a walk around while you're there. DH & I often RV camp in those towns.

I most certainly think there was media leaning. I'd say I'm in with that. I do think he's guilty. Wasn't his death sentence changed to life because one of the jurors, I think the one they called "strawberry short cake" due to her red hair, lie about a history of domestic abuse?

With all due respect, that is simply not true. In civil cases plaintiffs have to demonstrate that a preponderance of the evidence proves they are right. In criminal cases the standard is much higher. Those have to be proven "beyond a shadow of a doubt".
That's "Beyond a Reasonable doubt". Additionally, some evidence in Civil cases must be proven by "Clear and convincing evidence".
