Cookies

I don't think starting the day with any sugary treats is a good idea, that includes cookies, cake or doughnuts. Something like plain greek yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit, nuts, flaxseeds (for Omega 3), etc. may be a better option.

I'm not an oatmeal lover, but I've heard that steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast can be very healthy, and give energy until lunch without sugar spikes. Problem with sweets, it there's the unhealthy "high" as your blood sugar spikes, and then it's followed by the depressive "crash", which just makes you feel lousey.

Sign me up for that cookie trial..can we test malomars and choc chip, maybe a few oatmeal with raisins and walnuts for balance...LOL....

Plain greek yogurt...yuck. I give it to my dogs every morning though.

I'm a thinkin' you knew the answer before you asked.

I like bacon (ham or sausage) and eggs when I eat breakfast, which I don't do often enough. Oats is good too.

But really, eating the same thing every day for any meal is not healthy.Variety is necessary to provide a range of nutrients.

My problem is snacking in the evening. If there are any cookies left I'll have mine then.

No cookies in the AM but I'll take whatever pizza is left in the refrigerator from the night before and polish it off --- cold. Same thing with chili and if there's neither of those, I will resort to my standard toasted bagel slathered in a generous helping of peanut butter.

^^^That is variety and provides a range of - uh - nutrients:pig:

I love oatmeal but for some reason it really makes me sleepy. I looked that up on the Net and to my surprise there are folks that oatmeal triggers the sleep factor in them. Ozarkgal, maybe that's what we need to do late at night -- eat a bowl of steaming oatmeal:sleep::pepper:

I'm all about joining a trial that will analyze the affects of cookies for breakfast. Must admit that whenever a storm is blowing in and I think the power might go out, I'll have a big old apple pie on hand. Breakfast of Champions!
