"The carbon footprint of the world's richest 1% is on track to be 30 times higher than what's needed to limit global warming to 1.5C, a study says."

What was the carbon footprint of COP26? Why can't this and other events be held on a virtual basis? 25,000 people gathering by private jet to discuss the climate crisis doesn't send a very compelling message.

I wholeheartedly believe in climate change, global warming or whatever you want to call it. I just think that the people telling us what to do about it are full of methane gas themselves.

COP26 was just a "posturing" conference. Things will remain the same. And even if the US does implement regulations, China, Russia and India will continue to do the same old thing.

We can't know 100% what another country might do, especially given a lead, (ask Greta, she was invited to Russia to speak a few years back, although described as naive).

Don't kid yourself on that one, you'll be affected by this thing, one way or another, whether you like it or not I'd say!
Things Are changing here. Bicycles may use the entire lane slowing traffic considerably and at almost every corner they have reconstructed curbs to slow traffic and anger drivers in the process all in the name of breaking America's addiction to driving. Hey, this is a Big country, and the era of shops in every neighborhood where you could buy everything from milk to magazines, to batteries and sub sandwiches is gone. Americans Need to drive. This isn't Europe and never will be so stop trying to make life harder for the working class while China and the elites pollute the planet beyond endurance while punishing us for habits They will never change.

Saint Greta says that the conference was a failure so it must be true.
She has said that yes, but she's only saying what so many here said before the event, that it would fail to make a real difference, so "must it be true" because so many of us have thought the same way, (if we can be bothered to think about climate change at all?)?
