….on April 3rd Dallas country judge Clay Jenkins said the 'shelter in place' order will last till April 30 even though the Dallas county commissioners extended the stay in place order until May 20th, but in counties adjacent to Dallas country they are talking of lifting the stay at home order shortly.

Now folks we are not talking hundreds or even tens of miles apart you can literally step from Dallas county into the adjacent county that has different orders concerning the coronavirus. This opposing view of the 'shelter in place' order is only one of many differences between the counties here in Texas. Take for instance the fact that Dallas country shut down all restaurants and bars a week ahead of other counties or equally important the judges description of what business he considers 'essential' and should remain open.

Now I don't know what is happening with regard to these and other efforts by local governments to stop the spread of the coronavirus but I am thinking at the very least there are way too many people telling us conflicting things we must do. Is it any wonder that here and in other states many young and stubborn old people are doing whatever they want.

On the positive side I can attest to most of the people in my community observing the wearing of a face mask and stay at home orders. Today I went on my once every two weeks grocery shopping foray for 'seniors' at 7am and can now smile at my first purchase of toilet paper in weeks when at the same time noting that everyone at the Kroger store I go to observing the personal distance rule.

So maybe
if we have fewer chiefs
giving orders
and those orders enforced
by fines and citations
maybe
just maybe
we will soon see
some light

at the end of the tunnel.

No in school Academics for the remainder of this school year. What that means for graduations and so forth, I have no idea and I doubt if they do either or they would have announced them at the same time.
