There was "chaos" on Saturday afternoon as the British coffeehouse company reopened 32 branches and dozens queued to use the chain's drive-thru lanes.

In Yorkshire one shopper said, “The road was in chaos, a police car couldn't even get through at one point” !

Just how desperate must they have been for a cup of coffee ??? 😆

Costa coffee ? More like costa fortune ! I looked through their window once , couldn't afford to go inside .

Sounds like Starbucks? As much as I would love a chai latte, sitting in car waiting an hour for one is something I wouldn't do.
yes we have starbucks here too (but they've remained closed)...not anywhere nearly as good as Costa, .. but much as I like the occasional Costa Latte , especially when I'm out shopping there's no way I'd queue for one... Seems odd that people don't know how to make their own coffee at home , rather than sit in a queue a mile long.

Well, I stand here to say that during the almost 7 weeks of all restaurants being shut during the "glorious" CORVID-19 days, I have only once used take-out service. It was at a Tim Horton's drive through window. I was not happy with the service & will not use take-out again. I will wait until the restaurants are opened. Why wasn't I happy? 1. Part of my order was missing (the coffee). 2. There was no receit. I only went to Tim's because the line up of cars to MacDonald's was way too long for this guy.

I've not used a take-out service of any kind since the lockdown... I do crave some things a little bit.., but I was never someone who bought much take-away food anyway...if KFC or any burger or pizza chain were relying on my money , they'd go bankrupt... but I make fairly acceptable versions of things at home for now... ...when everything hopefully is back to normal, I would like a KFC....and a costa Latte... and that'll be my fix for months

I use the drive thru at KFC and others anyway unless uber, lyft, grubhub and others have zero delivery fee. They have it quite often here in Houston. No way am I frying chicken, etc in my kitchen any more. I did that for years when I had kids and a husband to feed. I am taking the easy way out for me now.

Hols I know how to make a chai latte at home, but Starbucks has a flavor shot they pump into it which I cannot imitate. It's both delicious and maybe addictive. :giggle: I have waited in line for it in their cafe, but I'd never sit in a hot car in a drive thru backing up traffic for it.

It's good to know I have a few principles left.

A few years ago it was reported that Costa Coffee had
9 times more Caffine that the next strongest one sold
in London, I don't know if it is the same since Coca Cola
took them over earlier in the year, I do know that the taste
is different.

Mike.

Ha!! I doubt there's 9 times more caffeine in my 1/2 shot skinny latte
