Here's an interesting question. Having a child's picture taken with Santa or the Easter Bunny. Maybe a bunch of photo ops at Disney or even Chuck E Cheese. There are two schools of thought. Some folks feel the pictures are adorable even if the child is screaming in terror. Then there are some kids that genuinely enjoy costume characters.
We went to a one year olds birthday today and there was Minnie Mouse. The kids over say 5 thought it was fun. Heck a bunch of grownups posed with her. But the infants and toddlers HATED her. My own grandboy was in my arms, gripping my necklace and keeping a watchful eye on that big scary dancing thing.
I never made my kids meet character unless they wanted to. The youngest was freaked by the mall Santa for years. It worked pretty well though. If she thought about wandering away, all I had to do is say Santa is walking in the mall. You know she stayed right beside me.
