Couch, sofa, davenport? Let's see yours!

Thanks Jules! let's see yours! haha! I cleaned it up before I snapped the picture. I usually have papers scattered and books open!
 
I wish I had one to show you - left the old sofa and 2 matching recliners in Ohio when we moved to Florida. Ordered new ones the first of April. Still waiting on them. And, sadly, I checked with other area furniture dealers and they are quoting 5
to 6 months or more lead time on many items..
 
You know Pam, we bought a pretty new sofa and one coordinating recliner from Big Sandy's a couple of years ago, and all of us, including the mini-dachshund want to be in that recliner all the time. Now that hubs and I both have chest colds we both even want to sleep in it.

I think it's just a matter of time before I decide to put comfort before elegance and replace the sofa with a second recliner.
 
I think it’s interesting who uses the different names for them. My mom and Gm called it the Davenport when I was growing up. My friends laughed at that, so I started referring to it as the couch. Then that got kind of tacky, and it seemed like the decorators were calling them sofas.

I call it both, sofa and couch. And in Spanish... el sofa. LOL That just reminded me of the story of my days as an interpreter when needed. I mixed both Spanish and English for a patient who knew no English. The doctor was literally on the floor ~ laughing. I would hide so that the doctors would not ask me for help after that.

Such a timely thread….just this month i ordered a recliner sofa (not a special order, it just isn’t in stock). Never would have thought i’d purchase such an untraditional sofa but it’s soooo darn comfy that i decided to heck with convention, time for some serious nap time lololol…..my current sofa is the most uncomfortable sofa in the universe so find myself fantasizing regularly about the upcoming newbie sofa….news at 11…
