Right now mine should be called a table because I’m using it to set photos on as I take them out of an album.

Thanks Gaer, that floor is actually a vinyl plank floor, looks like real hardwood, easy clean and easy to install, I did it myself. Called Allure Flooring by Traffic Master.

I remember the old folks sometimes referring to it as "the divan". It was always the davenport at our house.

In Australia where I grew up it was called a lounge. When I lived in New Zealand I heard it referred to as a divan and when I moved to California it was most frequently referred to as a sofa. Here in the south its most common name is a couch. Here’s the one we have in our living room.

In Scotland where I was born and raised it was almost always Settee.... or even at a stretch, a couch..but in the south of England it's always been called a sofa... and if it's a 2 seater, a Love Seat...
