Could you live without this thing?

We weren't born using computers, we got use to them. But could you really live without them? Could you go cold turkey? I was in the hospital, and went nuts without access.

I suppose we could if we had to, but I certainly wouldn’t choose to, I think I’d be lost without it now...

I could live without the computer, but it would be expensive for me. I’d have to buy a set of encyclopedias again to answer all my google questions each day. :shucks:
...and then they'd have to be updated every week... :eek:nthego:

Yes I could live without it, but it would be very hard to get used to having no access to instant information, chatting to friends and family online all over the world.. loads of other stuff, including the heating and lighting working off my computer..can you imagine having to switch on the table lamps by hand again.. *Joking*... however, for real, I would have a hard time re-adjusting without all the aforesaid things that the computer allows me to do every day...

Yes,I could if I really put my mind to it
A couple years ago when I was still at the AARP website,I decided not to post or reply to any of the posts during Lent. A couple regular posters thought I had lost my mind,I was a regular poster too
The first day or so was difficult,,but after awhile I didn't miss it,because nothing interesting was going on,same old boring topics.
This was the beginning for me to leave the website for good Sue

I could but would miss the day to day contact with my daughter and her family. Most everyday I see my grand kids doing this or that. They see me also. I'm sure my daughter wouldn't pick up the phone to call as often as we chat on Facebook.

I could go without using the computer as much as I do but unless everyone stopped using computers it would become increasingly difficult for me.

I think that it would be easier for me to get along without the television, telephone and even my vehicle than it would be to get along without the internet.

It’d be tedious

Weird, I live off grid….but

Thanks to those cell towers, I’ve got the internet
And auto banking
No more letters, stamps, deposit slips
No waiting for a statement

Downloading pics from my Nikon

using ms-word to write

And, well, being here
Touching with folks I never would

Sure, I could live without it

But I wouldn’t like it

We don't miss what we never had but now that I've come to rely on one, it would be difficult but I'd survive.

I suppose I could-but it would mean reading newspaper adverts to find out about concerts, phoning up to get tickets or going to the venue. It seems ancient history now that in 1985 a friend of mine spent four days camping outside a venue to ensure she got a ticket for Elton John!

I was in the hospital, and wasn't able to get on line. It was like someone cut off my arm. OMG!!! Not being able to Google!!! Yeah, I could "live" without it, but it's like TV, etc. Let's face it, YOU are using it, now.

For most people, anymore, losing access to the Internet is almost like losing an arm. This technology has transformed the way we live, communicate, and shop, etc., and being without it for any length of time really impacts our lives.

I'd hate to have to give it up. It helps me in so many ways. Grocery shopping is so easy on line and I can get it delivered. No more walking around the store. Paying bills, making appts, and so many other things. With my poor memory now I am always looking up things. I admit I am addicted !

My grandfather never saw a computer, nor a cell phone. He never owned a TV. He drove around in a model A Ford. He got along fine.

I would sooner give up my cell and/or computer than my car.
