Yes, I could ride it. I did ride one years ago. But I wouldn't try it now in my 70s. They are very accident-prone, difficult to balance at first, no brakes, and it's easy to go flying over the handle bars (such as they are) if you try to stop too quickly or just hit a bump.

Could I just add to this post/thread - is there anyone out there who can't ride a bike? I am of the opinion that everyone who can ride a bike thinks it is strange if you can't. I was raised by my grandparents - boys had bikes but not girls. My o/h has ridden a bike all his life. I would love to be able to ride a bike but not on the roads. I guess it must seem strange to some but it might be similar to me thinking 'what - you can't swim'. Just a thought

Yes, I had one as a child when all my friends had bikes.
I wasn't allowed to ride on the highway.
Guess when I did ,not sure if I got teased by the rest of the bunch.
Or if I got scared by traffic,, said that's enough.

I live in Australia but I watch American pickers and I recognise Mike Wolfe off the show .,he loves those bikes and pays big $$$$$ for them

Nope, I'd get seriously hurt on one of those things. This is more my style:
It has an electric rechargeable motor and is very stable with 3 wheels. I can keep up with the other riders and pedal as much as I want to.
While not a pretty bike, it gets me where I need to go and is so much fun!

I'm glad you get that show in Australia Kadee. It's one of our favorites and always fun and entertaining . Great personalities with that cast too.
In my younger years I would have gladly accepted the challenge, but not now.

My grandfather brought home an old bike once. It had the pedals attached to the front wheel....no chain, no sprocket. It was ok as long as you were going straight, but when you made a turn the problems began. Very poor design.
