Count Me Out!!

That's interesting Mike, although I can't find anything specific about it on the web.
All the money sites say that you can claim under section 75 of the Consumer Credit act if you pay by credit card, but not debit card.
However, there is a voluntary 'Chargeback' scheme that may allow you to claim from a Credit or Debit card.

Another here that will not own a debit card. I've had family whose bank accounts were hacked from stores while their transactions were in process. The thieves hacked into the store debit card processing systems.

Do use a credit card that's paid in full monthly, cash and the occasional check. Have had zero debt for many years now.

I have a debit card but only use it at the bank's ATM to withdraw my allowance once a month.

IMO a credit card is safer and has less liability associated with it than a debit card for purchase transactions.
