I don't know who this young woman is but this photo speaks volumes about her courage, her dignity and her hope for something better for her children.
I am in awe of her.
She stands alone, totally defenceless, before heavily armed, armoured police officers to make a point.
She could not have known what was about to happen to her but she did not turn and run, nor did she back down.
It is reported that she was arrested but not manhandled. I do hope this is true.
I also watched the mother who was shot in the leg by the sniper on TV praising the police officers who rushed to her aid and guarded herself and her teen aged son.
In both of these events I see the seeds of hope for something better than the current social conflict and division.
May these seeds be planted in hearts that are longing for peace.
