Crab apple jelly

After having a large crop of crab apples, we've set to work making crab apple jelly. We're trying a small variation with today's batch by adding cloves.
The boiled apples are draining through a muslin cloth and tomorrow we'll use the juice to make the jelly.
I've also decided to try some crab apple gin, but Mrs. thinks that I need a taller 'Kilner' jar than the ones I have to hold all the apples.

We have made spiced apple sauce a canned a bunch many a year. I love the apple jelly recipe! The gin too. We have made many batches of different wines and made beer for awhile. Even had a bottle tool.... :)

And mine. We've managed to give some away, but still looking for creative ways to use the rest. Also got a good crop of eating apples (James Grieve and Spartan) so we'll have to find the best way to store them. Naturally there will be apple pies and cakes.

My gramma used to make.. haven't had in quite awhile!
