Wooooooo!! Business opportunity there. Scoop them up, put a certain amout of each in a little baggie and sell them to fishermen.

Yuck! I hope they didn't get into the house! What did you do about it?

Yummy, just fry some and dinner is ready! And freeze some for future gourmet dining over the holidays with guests...

Thank you, I am a fisherman but I much rather use other bait..

They are all dead, I sprayed them.

Well, they would have been nice if you hadn't have made them toxic by spraying them. Maybe next time...

Insects are becoming all of the rage to get more protein in your diet instead of red meat...

YIKES - crickets! Yuck! We got invaded by grasshoppers this summer and they drove me nuts jumping up at me when I'd go to the car. Not to mention the fact that they did a real number on my flowers. I HATE bugs.

In the southwest deserts (including Texas), the favorite Scorpion food is crickets. Exterminators can't seem to kill Scorpions with insecticides but they can and do spray to kill their food source, crickets. See crickets around and you live in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, West Texas, you have Scorpions. One sting and you'll remember it for life.

For us, this has been the year of the Wasps and Yellow Jackets. I've been stung a half dozen times by yellow jackets, and twice by wasps, this year....the wasp stings are by far the worst. At least crickets don't bite...but Any abnormal increase in insects can quickly become a pain in the rear.

We had 4 straight years of grasshopper invasion!!! They devoured just about everything insight!! Ate onion plants right down to the bulbs!! Killed 3 of my neighbors peach trees, ate the bark and all!! We are glad that we did not get them this past summer..

Haven't had those problems south of you Ken ... just a few strange looking beetles (I think that's what they are!).
The toad population is going strong though.

About 6 years ago we had the toads..We would sit out on the patio for our morning coffee and we would have to raise our feet on another chair as the toads traveled back and forth from our yard light. They stayed around the light ,for bugs, until daylight, then traveled to the area under our patio when the light went out.. One morning we counted something like 20 large and small..
