Love your crochet pieces! It's so lovely of you to give your blankets to new mothers. I plan to crochet blankets, etc. for the Red Cross this winter.

Hi Pinky, nice of you to give blankets to the Red Cross !!!,,, a great cause!!!,, ❤️
No to your question about the "stone looking " Necklaces..hahah...They are actually made with yarn that is made of glittery material,. much like ribbons..

I started to crochet when I was about 4 or 5. Drove my Grandma crazy so she gave me some rug yard & an old wooden crochet hook & taught me. Haven't stopped yet, only slowed down a little with hand aches.

At my husbands retirement job, it seemed the girls were always expecting. He had me make baby blankets for them. I just kept making them so they would be ready for the next one. He has since left there, so I have a few put back when needed.

I may have posted this here at one time. I was given a half finished afghan that my MIL's sister started, however she passed away before she finished it. It sat for years because I didn't have the yarn that would have gone with it.
When my MIL passed away I told my husband to look for some matching yarn while cleaning out her house. His sister found it!
I am almost finished crocheting the other half. Granted, her crocheting is much more professional than mine but it's ok.
I did have to buy a bit of yarn to finish one color. Not a perfect match but close enough.
The colors match my loveseats perfectly.
I'll post when finished.

I've always had a crochet in my hands from very early on. In the late 70s I was part of the kids section of the Arts and Crafts community.

Personally, I've always had troubles with knitting needles. They literally bend in the middle, it's bad 😆😆😆.

However, I was able to help the young ones do Elf Slippers. We did rocking chairs out of wood clothes pins. As well as Macramé, embroidery design and patterns for handbags.

My speciality is definitely crochet. In the late 80s, I crocheted all the blankets for munchkins, wee First Mother's Day dresses for daughter. My piece de résistance was the christening shawl which was used for both of our babies.

Even though we suffered an attic flood once, thankfully the knitted goods were safe and are now with daughter's trousseau.

Sadly, one item hubby and I had crocheted was a king-size blanket for our bed in individual squares.

Daughter and I are planning to make another one this winter, in granny squares and multicolour.

i buy my yarn at Hobby Lobby ,!! i only buy it when its a Half price sale,,which is one week every month,
Their yarn is very soft and not scratchy !!! like you would find at Walmart!! Ugh!!
