I watch medical lectures and conferences on YouTube, and I just watched one where a pediatric ENT specialist talked about a 4yr-old patient with severe ear pain and, for a whole week, she couldn't find the cause. She ordered imaging, did complete blood work, and referred him to other specialists, and his parents still had to keep bringing him into her ER every couple days.
She finally ordered a cat scan of the occipital/parietal region of his brain. By this time, the child had some swelling in his neck and a fever.
The new images found a single wire bristle from a grill brush lodged in the right tonsilar area of his throat. He'd eaten a grilled burger at a family BBQ just a couple days before all this crap started. The poor little fella had to have surgery, but the bristle was removed and he got better right away.
So this doctor did a lecture at a medical symposium, warning everyone about metal wire grill brushes.
