Customer service is a dying art

I agree with this. Unfortunately I internalize too much so I’m still in the process of identifying what I can control and what I can’t.

That is a great response.
Simple & sweet.
Thank you.
I do internalize too much that’s for darn sure things still have to be done thouso the stress builds

When I've received poor customer service, I either go to the company Facebook page and complain, or I shoot off an email to corporate headquarters. I usually get pretty good results. I also complement folks in that way when they go above and beyond, as well as thanking them in person.

I also do this. It's important. :)

They are polite and courteous to me, everywhere, but the thing is, the just do not know much.
I cannot expect them to answer my questions right. They don't know inventory, they don't even
know their address or what street is nearby. They are not trained much. When I once
worked in a department store, they told me nothing about the merchandise. Problem is nothing new

The call centers are worse in foreign nations. They are merely reading the computer, over and over but they are very polite to me.

To clerks who are talking about last night's date and ignoring customers: "Excuse me, have I come at a bad time/the wrong time?" and if answer is blank stare: "I didn't know it was social hour."

The bad time question also works if you arrive at an appointed time and are kept waiting a very long time with no explanation.

Never do this in a restaurant unless you've already been served.

OK everybody, I would like to know everyone’s techniques for being handling rude, incompetent, uncaring persons on the telephone or in person displaying horrible customer service. I need all the help I can get as sooner or later my blood pressure is going to suffer as I always internalize these things and it eats me up. Thanks for your input 👍
You don't want to know, trust me.

I have zero tolerance for poor customer service and I let it be known loud and clear, including going right to the top to voice my displeasure and make waves.

One of the biggest reasons customer service stinks today, compared to back in in the day... too many people roll-over and allow themselves to get walked on and they don't say anything.

I encourage people to speak up and stand up.

When i was in customer service, I had to keep telling myself:
There is no sign above the entrance that tells the customers
they have to be WELL MANNERED!

Serve: To exert oneself continiously,
t render service so as t benefit,
help or promote,
To deliver in readyness,
To furnish or supply,

There is no YES and NO.
In service there is only
YES
and
"May i suggest the following?"
