Dad: 10-Year-Old 'Out of Her Mind' With Christmas List

She wants $4K, plus a lot of other stuff

One 10-year-old girl's Christmas list is being labeled "most extravagant," "lavish," and "one of the strangest gift lists any child has ever assembled," among other slightly less benevolent descriptors. The list went viral after the kid's father shared it on Twitter last week, writing, "My 10 year old daughter must be out of her mind with this Christmas list."

She sounds like a spoiled brat. To come up with a list like that can't be the first time she made outrageous demands. Time for the parents to put their foot down.

I did read that Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise's ex, one Christmas spent $40,000 on Suri. I'm sure she does it all the time, but they can afford it.

@PVC
She must think money grows on trees.

I wonder if this kid was just having some fun; she may have a great sense of humor. Her father may have been in on the joke, sharing the list in order to share the laughs! Why is everyone taking this list so seriously?

Oh, c'mon. What kid doesn't want a ton of stuff? Now, if she actually expects it, that's different. What bothers me a little is the public shaming aspect. Better he should have a conversation with her about unrealistic expectations. Not everything needs to go on the internet.

I hardly celebrate Christmas at all. It's suppose to be about the birth of Christ. Now, it's all about families fighting, buying junk they don't need, mad when the credit card charges come in on January 21. I don't care how many millions of light bulbs from China you put on your house; it doesn't really buy you happiness. Happiness comes from within; doing good deeds, not shopping for things you don't really need. Think about this.

Makes me think something’s missing in her life, ( maybe more attention) because she sure got it with that list!

Do you sell the wood or keep it ?
In the case of the money tree, as above, I would definitely keep it! Otherwise, I haul everything to a wood recycler who charges me to drop it off, and then charges me, again, if I need the mulch generated. Hell of a deal, that, what!

It’s all about celebrating the seasonal holiday with the ones I love most, mainly being my husband and two dogs. The tree gets put up with lights and special decorations from friends and family, outside lights are hung, carols get sung , special edibles are made and enjoyed, special calls and connections are made all in the spirit of Christmas.

It’s not pretentious for us. It’s as special as we make it and we make it special for us.
Note: We do however give generously to the Salvation Army as well as dropping off food and toys to other charities. Living in the country seems to help make it less commercialized.

and yes I know the threads not about me.
