Daily online routine

The first thing I do each morning after logging on to the internet is send my daughter an e mail to let her know I’m alright, then check out the local weather, I’m a member of three social media sites so I have a quick look at those, read my horoscope, reply to any important e mails and sign out until later in the day, how about you ?

Depends on how late I sleep. Most days I log on at about 11am and fiddle around online for about an hour. Then I come back for an hour or so in the evening. First I sit down here with a cup of tea and I play solitaire a few times to sort of loosen up my brain, then I read and reply to my emails, then check out to Senior Forums.

Get up, get the coffee machine going and fire up the laptop. Check the weather forecast (which is rarely accurate), check the news to see what we're all going to die from, delete any emails because they're usually spam or ads for holidays and then have a quick shufti at SF.

Get up around five.
Let the dog out.
Start the coffee machine.
Unload the dishwasher.
Let the dog back in.
Take coffee to computer table:
Read; Daily Devotion page, e-mail, Primetimer TV forum (talk about last night's Survivor, etc.), Senior Forums, Google news, back to Senior forums to see if anyone's talking about the latest news.

Start chores.:(

A Shufti is Arabic. In that language it means “have you seen?”. It's a bit of military slang, picked up by British servicemen formerly based in the Middle East. Another slang term meaning much the same is butchers. It's cockney rhyming slang, butcher's hook, meaning look.
This was the information superhighway for my father. Hats required, of course…

Sounds like me!

While the coffee is being dripped, I log on.

Start a quick perusal of email, read my news sources, and then head to social sites. Rinse & repeat several times per day.

I grab some water, read these forums and check the headlines in the Washington Post, sometimes play a few games of mahjong.

I rarely check my email except to run the junk mail controls on it. With two exceptions, everyone I know texts instead. The two exceptions call instead.
