Hello evryone, pleased to meet you all. I am looking forward to our chat sessions. I'm a 71 yr old married lady. My husband has Alzheimers so I am looking for mental stimulation in order to keep me going. It's a good laugh I need too.

There's plenty of good company on this forum and interesting discussions/banter etc to keep you entertained and intellectually stimulated. I warn you though, it is very addictive.

My mom had Alzheimers, so I know exactly what you're going through and my heart goes out. This board will be a wonderful respite.

Hello Katybug, Nice to know you understand, thanks. Life gets monotonous at times, but you keep going. My life has gone out of the window, I need people in my life and everyone seems scared of Alzheimer's so they don't come to see me. Phone yes and sympathize, but I don't need that. Hey ho, I'll manage. Plenty more people worse off than me. What's the weather like with you? It's raining here.

That irritates me so much, for people to be afraid of Alzheimers --- as if they're going to "catch it!" Ridiculous! And if you are the caregiver, you need friends more than ever. That's what this board is all about, great support group.

Weather here in Charlotte, NC will be 90 today, but our mornings and evenings are extremely pleasant. We've had more rain than we know what to do with early on, but we haven't had much for awhile. But it was so bad, it ruined crops, daily flood warnings, what a mess and glad that's behind us.

Have yourself a good day and come to the board when things get challenging. I know all too well how Alz turns life around for everyone in the family. (HUGS)
 
Hello Daisydee, welcome to the forum, glad that you're here with us! :welcome: My heart goes out to your and your husband. :love_heart: I lost an Aunt years ago to Alzheimer's, it's a devastating disease, wishing you the best.
