I couldn’t find another thread about this… USA Today says she passed away January 16th

One of my fave British Actresses…. She had some wonderful roles… she could draw tears from a stone with pathos or have you laughing ….

My favorites roles of hers include “Dance With Me”, “Enchanted April” and “Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont”

Great actress. I can't recall the names of the films/series that were so good. But she was perfect in every role she'd done.

Actors and actresses, like Joan Plowright, who had gone through the British repertory system were masters of the craft. They were professional actors, not film stars. Stage, film or television, they were always good value.

Yes, and Olivier wrote in his autobiography, that he had some problems with impotence and that she helped him successfully to overcome them. I found this a big compliment for her.
