Unkind comments which do not show you in a flattering light either, just my opinion of course. Oh and welcome to the forumActually this couple look great dancing. I think I should have added to my post - that the elderly seniors who dance at our community events with rock and roll bands, look awful because they still dress like in their twenties, the women, with low cut tank tops and saggy old boobs hanging out and shorts that are too short for fat bums hanging out too. Yuck!
Well it's good to understand the reason it makes you cringe.... I haven't found a way to overcome this instinctive cringe. Built on my personal view, senior equals dignity and modern dance lacks that dignity!
Well Trish, at least my wife and I were complimented, although I don't think that maxicat123 realised it was us. But I do agree with you, personal comments are best left unspoken.Unkind comments which do not show you in a flattering light either, just my opinion of course. Oh and welcome to the forum![]()
I agree. Do what makes you happy. Dance away.Mark Twain said, “Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth.”
Just be your authentic self! Who cares what others think.

Many years ago, my wife and I spent many a happy hour ballroom dancing, we loved the Latin dances too, but with ballroom, dressing up made you feel the part. We had some great outfits and I must admit that this photo is not us, all our Latin & Ballroom photos are on celluloid. I have heard that they can be transferred to digital but technology and me.........well let's just say that I will stick to dancing, I can do that.

I hope that doesn't stop you @fuzzybuddy. Dancing is fun and it's good exercise.I'm 77. When I dance now, I look just as ridiculous as I did when I was 17.
