Sometimes the metal strip would break and you had to resort to using a pair of pliers to pull off the rest of the metal strip.

You Have to be careful of all cans with sharp edges; they are easy to cut yourself with. I recently cut my finger on one, too.

Not on one of those, but I opened my hand-up on a pull-tab can of soup once, and boy did I cut myself bad.

Sliced myself up more than once but cooking up a stew with potatoes, onions and chicken stock almost made it worth while.

I was just looking at a can of Corned Beef that had this type of key. There were several products in the same section that had the keys. Not worth the effort.

I was trying to recall where I encountered that type of can not long ago- that was it: corned beef.
I've never had a problem with the cans being sharp, but it's annoying when the keys break.
