I once knew a chap who you could say was a bit of a Darcy figure, whilst the wife was probably fairly described as "plain". However, there was far more to their relationship than that, as she was very intelligent, educated and quick witted, whilst he had the quick wits in spades, but not quite so well educated, formally at least.
I'm not sure if they're still married, with a family etc, but I hope so, (it won't have been a dull marriage whatever happened, but I've never seen a man as able to get a woman's phone number as quickly, followed by his request of me ," Don't tell my wife!".
). Whether he was unfaithful I don't know, but my goodness did he have some opportunities not to be, living in Paris, France, as well, "where live is always in the air" isn't it(?). .
