Daughter coming to visit, YAY

Daughter called and said they are coming to visit, so excited. I’ve haven’t seen them in little over a year and my great granddaughter looks like she has really grown. She is a little over two now and I doubt she remembers me.

The virus is on the way up in Texas and on the way up in Utah so the danger will be the same. They drive straight through so they won’t be stopping anywhere and they wear masks. All three of them have already had the virus. The only bad thing is she is bringing her other “children”.

Six yapping old grumpy toy poodles. Daughter wants to buy a standard poodle puppy while she is here since her other one died a few months ago. Ugh. 7 dang dogs. Bought two gates to corral the herd in the kitchen. Most are toothless and have to have diapers on.

Ended up buying a sofa bed, which I HATED to do, and a cot for the baby. Had decided never to buy a sofa again, but now I have. Then had to buy extra sheets. It never ends! Had to charge it all as well. But, I’d pay any price to see them, so there you are. And rearranging the house again to baby proof it.

Your daughter deserves a medal for bravery. Planning a road trip with a two year old and six puppies takes guts. Enjoy

Aneeda72,,,When will they arrive & for how long?

So we'll know you are enjoying your company & not ill or injured.
They will come at the end of June, thanks. I am all set for them except for the complete house cleaning, lol. Had husband take off next Thursday to help clean. They arrive on Friday. They will sleep in his room, the largest we have with the attached private bathroom.

Plumber coming on Monday to fix the toilet. It runs unless you manually shut it off so won’t have them bother with that. Needed to be fixed anyway. They should arrive next Friday and leave Sunday. They are driving straight through.

She wants me to run around with them, but I doubt I will. I get tired easily and with the virus I don’t think I should go out as much. But we will see. They are going to try and see their other daughter who still lives here. I’d like to see her as well. But idk.

The cot we ordered for baby Maia is very nice so we are all set. The 6 toy poodles will sleep with them, as usual, lol. Husband will sleep in my room and I will sleep in the living room probably in my recliner. Aussie, husband”s dog, will sleep in living room as well.

Keeping him away from the small old dogs will be a challenge. Anyway, we are all ready. Just hope their plans don’t change. With a two year old, that can always happen.

Lots of luck with everything going smoothly while your family are with you.
Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Take care of yourself ,too.

We haven't seem our sons, since January when they came for their grandmother's funeral.
Last saw grand daughters at Thanksgiving.
That’s a long time, I’m sorry. I have a granddaughter and two great granddaughters who live in town, but can’t see them as granddaughter works at smiths grocery store and the risk of exposure is too great. I would do a drive by, but she wants the girls inside which I think is silly.

However, they are not my children and I don’t get to have a vote. They have not seen my son, their grandfather, either. She is super cautious, I suppose, due to her job.

Daughter and family arrived. It is going, great so happy to see her. We talked until about 9 pm when everyone was tired and went to bed. Our son came over for a few minutes after work. Our great granddaughter is a bundle of non stop motion after two days in a car. Then she became overly tired and Impossible to settle down.

Still watching her running all over the dinning room and living room was entertaining. Wish I had some of her get up and go. She is talking a lot, such a relief that her speech has improved so much in a short tIme. She is doing great with her grandparents. Her grandparents wanted to show off her learning skills, but she just ran around like a typical 2 year old.

The six toy poodles yapping, howling, and generally nuts, were over excited as well. They gave them some medication (The dogs) to try and calm the herd down but I don’t think it worked. No one would nap, 😂. Our dog Aussie got real excited as well although he was crated to avoid injuries to the small ones. An interesting afternoon for sure.

As usual I am up in the middle of night while everyone else is sleeping. They couldn’t find a female poodle puppy for sale so tomorrow they are going to look at a labradoodle puppy and will probably buy her. How they will get her and the others home is beyond me.

While they can sneak the older smaller dogs in and out of a hotel room, hard to keep a yapping puppy hidden. But not my problem.

I can't get over the number of pups travelling with the family.

We have one overweight dog.
Hope to take with us when traveling to our son in MI. next week.

Taking her harness,, blankie & pillow, dog food,, food dishes.
If its too hot in the house she may have to stay in cage in son's garage.

Son would like us to stay a week.
Like the dog we, don't 'do' heat well,, may come home early.

Aneeda72,, all the dogs yapping & fussy child,, did you get a headache?

I actually did get a bad headache as one of the dogs had a very high pitched voice and kept screeching anytime daughter and son in law were gone, which was not very often.

It was a great visit! We talked and talked and talked. Ate a lot of food I was not supposed to have, especially ice cream, lol. And the baby is just entering the terrible twos and my daughter kept saying she just didn’t know why she wouldn’t behave. 😂.

They came with an amazing amount of stuff for the dogs, packed everything they needed. Unknown to me before they left, while I was asleep, they cleaned the kitchen even mopped the floor; and laundered all the sheets, towels etc that they used.

Baby has really caught up and now talks a lot, so exciting to see. Even when here they constantly worked on her speech skills. I am so sad they couldn’t stay longer, but I don’t miss the dogs!

She called me once they were down the road and said go into the kitchen we left you something. Get it before dad does. I figured, oh dear, more ice cream. I went into the kitchen and they had left 500 dollars for us to buy a new tiller. Ours had just broken. Such a great surprise.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time!
Am so happy for you.
Enjoy looking for the tiller or has your husband already have one picked out?
Thanks it was wonderful. Despite living far away from me, and in Texas, daughter looked and acted happy.

Tillers apparently are in great demand and we found only one after checking several stores in our area. It’s a small one but enough to finish the small garden space in the front yard which we had already tilled with the large tiller. So we bought it. Also allowed me to buy a few flowers that I wanted that were not on clearance.

To finish the back yard we will try and rent a tiller or just wait till next year when we can hopefully find one. Code enforcement is only interested in how the front yard looks so we should be fine.
