Daylight Savings Time - yea or nay?

I don't like getting up in the morning when it's dark. So I'm for making Standard Time year 'round.
I could live with either one, but I'd prefer one time standard all year.

Congress and most states have their hands full with more important matters, but I hope my state takes up the issue before too long... I don't know if Congress would have the authority to change it nationally, or even if they should. But to me the issue is way past it's reason for implementation.

What I wrote on the earlier current thread below. As long as the corporations for the sake of more profits have control of politicians, unlikely to happen or worse they will get their wish with permanent DST. Ironically, if and when that happens, companies etc might then gradually begin changing their operating hours back an hour because employees will complain against having to getting up in the dark so.

Why do we have to have daylight savings time?

So after their 8-f m-f jobs, executives and upper middle class people can play golf and Wall Street retail corporation bean counters can squeeze out even more money from we citizens. One needs to understand, the same result would happen if companies, schools, and government offices where people work simply seasonally shifted their hours during the year so people would go to work earlier and and get off earlier.

But companies, schools, and government offices are not going to shift their working hours so Walter can play golf or Sally after work will have an easier time driving in daylight to a shopping mall. So instead of pressuring companies, schools, and government offices to change shop and office hours, corporation bean counters pressure their politicians and news media to change the subject with bullsh$$ into how the rest of us during summer are going to enjoy more daylight hours after work.

I wish they would just pick one. I dont care which one. I could live with either one.

Im retired. I get up when I feel like it now so its usually not dark when I get up anyways.
Back when I still worked I hated switching back and forth.

I forgot to mention the heart attack factor. I messed up and scheduled an appointment for Mon 3/9.
I usually just go by the clock on my computer and the cable box so it takes me a minute to realize theres a time change.
I only change my watch and the clock in the car. I just ignore the rest. :D

Anyways. I looked at my unchanged watch and thought I was early, so I had time to watch a few cat videos.
My computer clock said guess again. Holy Crap. I had 10 minutes to do paint and body work and leave the house.
I made it on time but the dentist commented on my blood pressure. :D

i agree with many here pick one and stay with it. someone somewhere will be inconvenienced and complain ....
complain ,whine and moan is a hobby with some it seems

I enjoy the summer evenings and the closer we get to the summer solstice, the longer the daylight. I really like the warm weather and the longer daylight.
