I once joined a small colourful ; interesting forum that had its heyday and some in-fighting and then almost died but staggered on for a while and then the owner died [fully confirmed by family contact]. We the remaining 6 were saddened and mopped around a bit. Then the talk came to 'what to do'? notify the "parent body" of the forum group or just keep going for a while?
We debated of course whether one of us would like to take over management - officially via the parent body? but all declined. So here we still are mopping around ; chatting ; exchanging news and unless the site itself has a major glitch of some sort that halts its actions so it may continue. I am sure the great ether of WWW out there must be littered with possible dozens if not hundreds of such phenomena? floating in www space and like the universe capable of going on for ever until a bolt gets stuck in the cog wheels?? wot to do? carry on or throw in the towel?
