Deadly NYC subway surfing game claims two more lives

That is the dumbest thing I ever saw! I lived in New York City for 15 years. No one ever did something stupid and dangerous as that. Back in the 1970's and 1980's, no one ever did that, no matter how stupid or retarded they were. You would never hear about in on the news. We knew how fast the trains travelled. We knew about the low underpasses. They all should be arrested thrown in jail, assuming the morons survived.

nothing new here. Back in the 60's it was car surfing. (only the means have changed). went to school with a guy who had a metal plate in his head for injuries suffered when the 2 cars split a bit wider than his stance. They said that after the metal plate installation he was a little crazy. I'd have to say... no... he was a little crazy to be standing on top of 2 moving cars. Either way, it seems like Darwin wins.

I don't know if it's reported in one of the videos in this thread or not... but two little girls (yeah, little girls to me... just 12 and 13) were killed doing this over the weekend. They met on social media. I have to say that the news report I saw with one of their mothers seeming to enjoy the spotlight instead of mourning her daughter's death was surreal to watch.

EDIT: I see there is indeed a video here of the incident.

This is the same generation or crowd that answers the steal a car challenge.

Part of the issue is that kids are not taught things like laws against tresspassing which includes railroad or train tracks. Surprised after 9/11 there was a push to keep infrastructure secure and doing anything on the track could draw police attention.

They also need courses on physics like the human body is no match for a bridge, underpass or train.
