Deadly Tornadoes Rip Across Midwest,

Several people were killed and dozens more injured as powerful tornadoes and severe storms ripped across Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky and even parts of the Washington, D.C. metro area.​

At least seven people were killed in Missouri, and emergency crews were still searching building to building for survivors. and emergency crews were still searching building to building for survivors. Kentucky also reported at least 14 fatalities as the storm unleashed large hail, damaging winds, and multiple tornadoes across the region.

How horrible. Years ago, when I lived in Wisconsin, I saw a tornado from a distance, miles away. It looked like the mouth of hell! Such a frightening, ugly sight a tornado is.

I grew up in Indiana. When that siren sounded (continuous siren), it was down to the basement until we heard the all-clear signal (short blasts).

We were lucky in that yesterdays storms hit about 100 miles SE of us....but, there is another round coming through our area this Monday and Tuesday....hopefully it will just be heavy rains, with no tornados and hail. Spring is always a potentially hazardous time in the Midwest.

I find it fascinating to watch Nature's Fury build and unleash. Yes, we had our share of encounters over time.

Been way too close for comfort including a couple of times directly under ones that didn't touch down. It's as though they're alive ...evil beasts from nightmares.

So sad. I read that people in the church in the first pic were killed. Prayers for those who've lost loved ones, homes and are having to face the aftermath.

Terrible, frightening, heart wrenching event!! My prayers go out to the families of those who lost loved ones and who lost their homes and businesses. Once again, devastating weather event adding to homelessness in our country.

I’m sorry these people had to suffer through these storms. I’m sure at least some lost relatives and friends.
