Every Monday we go over to the club house to play table games usually Rummy & Dominos. We make a pot of regular coffee & a pot of decaf coffee. I had been having a little trouble sleeping if I drink one too late. I decided to switch to a cup of the decaf only last night. 2 hours later I went to bed & tossed & turned, body was jumpy, couldn't figure it out. I finally got to sleep around 1 AM, got up at my usual 6 AM. This afternoon decided to research the effects that I may have got from the decaf. Holy Moly! Decaf coffee unless it's done with Swiss water has chemicals added to the bath they use to remove the caffeine. can cause RA, heart problems, cancers, osteoporosis, respiratory issues & nerve damage. I believe that it is not a healthy alternative for better sleep. Maybe cutting out the late cup is better. I'm not blaming the decaf but was what it was.
