Effem foods used to make them and they changed their name to Mars Foods incorp. They definitely haven’t stopped making them. They are one of their biggest sellers which is why the company changed their name to Mars. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen any Mars bars in quite a few years.. I'd wondered if the company stopped selling them.
I had deep-fried ice cream in a Mexican restaurant once, years ago. It was ok, I guess. There was somewhere in my town that did them at one time - I dont like Mars bars much nor battered fried things - so I never tried one.
Deep fried icecream is a thing in chinese restaraunts mainly - I have had that occasionally.
after all this talk... and knowing it was my Countrymen who invented it in a fish and chip shop many years ago...I'm beginning to be tempted to try one...I had deep-fried ice cream in a Mexican restaurant once, years ago. It was ok, I guess.
I'm sure you know that some chip shops that do the deep fried Mars bars also do deep fried balls of batter, i.e. they get a small ball of batter, deep fry it, then coat it in more batter and deep fry that. Oh, and I've also seen adverts in a chip shop for deep fried pizza as well, i.e. you buy a slice of your favourite pizza at the chip shop, and they then deep fry it in batter for you!after all this talk... and knowing it was my Countrymen who invented it in a fish and chip shop many years ago...I'm beginning to be tempted to try one...
I think what I'll do at some point is cut an inch from a mars bar or equivalent, coat it in batter and then fry it.. and see what all the noise is about these last few years lol

Actually the Scottish chip shops have been serving deep fried Pizza for longer than the mars bars....I'm sure you know that some chip shops that do the deep fried Mars bars also do deep fried balls of batter, i.e. they get a small ball of batter, deep fry it, then coat it in more batter and deep fry that. I guess it's those "to each their own" things..Actually the Scottish chip shops have been serving deep fried Pizza for longer than the mars bars....
My favourite is deep fried Haggis.. and deep fried black pudding.. none of which I can get here in the south of England...
exactly... when you think of the garbage people eat when they buy cheap processed foods, .. and enjoy them... nothing surprises me about people's tastes ..lolI guess it's those "to each their own" things..![]()
you have to be joking...''horrible taste of European chocolate? ''..European chocolate is the best quality chocolate in the world ''....Some years back, I visited Scotland with my Daughter and her husband. He and I shared a breaded and deep fried Mars bar. The horrid taste of European chocolate combined with the fishy flavor of the frying oil made it unpalatable and I didn't finish my half.
Mars Inc. - Wikipedia.Wow, that reaction didnt take long.Nope, it was made in Europe. And I Included that remark because I become a bit weary of hearing frequent comments about American chocolate. USA is a huge country and we have many more candy manufacturers than Hershey and Mars. This country produces some fine chocolate that compares with any made anywhere in the world.
My favourite chocolate is LINDT 80%. Really annoyed because Coles and Woolworths have decided to put it up to $8.99you have to be joking...''horrible taste of European chocolate? ''..European chocolate is the best quality chocolate in the world ''....
what you ate in a Mars bar was cheap chocolate made by an American company !!
A commercial from awhile back.. considering the way the brand name is pronounced, it was funny, telling people 'EVERYBODY LOVES TO EAT LINDT!"My favourite chocolate is LINDT 80%. Really annoyed because Coles and Woolworths have decided to put it up to $8.99
a block. It's the only treat I buy so I do limit myself.
