Defining 'Lust' in your own words...

I've received a message asking if my topic is allowing
of any intense posts about lust.

My reply is, it's an open topic about how you might feel
about lust, in your own words. No worries from my end, I just
post the topic, members chose to reply or not. I don't
own the thread ;)
 
I concur with Wikipedia's article on Lust.

Lust is a psychological force producing intense desire for something. Lust can take any form such as the lust for sexuality (see libido), money, or power.

Exactly so, the dictionary will define lust as a strong craving for sex, but it also can mean a hunger for anything, like lust for power or
money. It can also take such mundane forms as the lust for food, which is often defined as gluttony, as distinct from the need for food for sustenance and sating hunger.
While lust isn't a dirty word, it is a strong word. You don't have lust for something you don't really care about. In my student days lust was often used to express a vulgar term in a more acceptable way. When seeing someone whom you would find sexually desirable you might say, as we often did, back then, "I think that I am in lust."
