We've had a Ronco dehydrator (like below) for well over over 25 years that still works perfectly......remember the ads back in the day on tv for them ?
We've never used ours for anything other than beef and venison jerky, I believe newer dehydrator brands & models have a small fan in the bottom of them now to make the process quicker but because ours is a older model it doesn't.....rotating the trays occasionally it takes ours about 16 hours to make jerky from med. thin slices of beef or venison.
I was given some venison a few weeks ago and I dug the Ronco out of the closet last night and we started a batch of jerky that should be ready mid morning.
Anyone else have and use a dehydrator for anything ?
