We try to take long weekends occasionally to US cities that we haven't visited. We just returned from Denver. We spent a couple of days in the city, visiting Denver Aquarium, Botanic Gardens, Meow Wolf (crazy artist place) and a Meditation and Light Show at the Church of Cannabis.
The Botanic Gardens differs from our Dallas Arboretum because it has plants and flowers from all over the world. Denver is definitely a young person's city, but we really enjoyed it. We also ate in a couple of amazing tapas restaurants for dinner.
But the best was an all-day tour to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs (for lunch) and Pike's Peak. We went to almost 12,000 feet at Pike's Peak. There was still snow, and various families were making snowmen. Garden of the Gods was the highlight. The mountains and rock formations are incredible. I would highly recommend Denver and the surrounding areas for a few days.
This is me at Garden of the Gods.
