I worked/lived in a tiny village in Spain in the late 60's and there was a hole in the wall wonderful restaurant there. It was owned by a young and very lovable couple. They made a fish soup all of the Americans and locals loved. I still think of that soup and that wonderful little village these many decades alter. Despite many menus I have tried nothing comes close to that wonderful dish.

My fav by far was rather simple when I was vacationing a long time ago at Hedonism II in Jamaica.

At 5AM for those that were still awake they served Conch Soup. I don't know what all the ingredients were but man was it delicious.

Never been overseas. We went to Disney World in Orlando Florida many, many, moons ago. Took Our son and daughter and a friend of my daughters. We spent way too much money, ordered lobster dinners from room service. I could not even tell you now which hotel it was, but it was on the grounds.
It was the best lobster I have ever had and most likely the most expensive I’ve ever had. Will never forget it. Dipping that lobster in whatever type of butter they had was delicious to say the least.

A memorable one was just lunch at a little hole in the wall place in Lahaina, Maui (Hawaii). Simply called a pig plate, a plate loaded with tender succulent Kalua Pig (pulled pork), we went there several times it was so good. They also had fun things on their menu like UFOs (unidentified fried objects), but we never ordered those. :p Had Kalua Pig at a luau too, one good reason to visit Hawaii again, although there are many.

Two meals are a tie

Victoria BC
Quaint little café downtown
Had their scotch broth for lunch
Each spoonful made me want to fall down and scream
Never had any like it since

Guangdong China
Open air kitchen
Chow Mein
Their Chow Mein happened to have dog in it
Best I’ve ever had, or will have

Out of state to me now, but not at the time. Does that count? ;)

A seafood platter at the restaurant in a hotel in New Bern, NC, near the Atlantic Ocean. A little bit of everything and it was fresh---lobster, crab, shrimp, scallops, whatever else, I can't remember, but every single thing was really good.

In Vermont on a ski trip I had a duck l'orange prepared by a cordon bleu chef. OMG. He served it with a honeyed popover that was heavenly. Rich meal. :eek:nthego:

I've travelled extensively throughout Europe, lived in Spain and Italy and worked in Germany, and holidayed in many places include most of the Greek Islands, and Cyprus and Turkey.. I've eaten the local Cuisine most of the time in those countries...but unbelievably the best meal I ever tasted ,,and this was after I'd lived in Northern Italy...was in Cyprus, where at a beautiful Greek roof top restaurant I chose not a traditional Greek meal, but an Italian ham & Mushroom Carbonara..something I'd eaten in many Italian restaurants in the Uk and in Italy on many occasions . To this day I have never tasted anything as delicious as that Carbonara in Cyprus , I have no idea how they made it, but it far exceeded anything I'd ever tasted in Northern Italy.

We've eaten lots of fresh fish caught and cooked right there at the harbour restaurants in many countries also, and delicious too... but the best was a Fish chowder we had at a seaside restaurant here in the Uk just 40 minutes from where I live.
The coastal area is full of restaurants and bars on the beach, where they catch and cook the fish right there and then, mainly shellfish.. and the soup we had at this particular restaurant had so much fish in it, and cream sauce, and served with a big chunk of crusty bread and eaten Al fresco at the tables over looking the sea on a sunny day...Ambrosia...and now whenever we take a trip down there, we always have that soup, even if it's winter, sitting outside on the restaurant decking area watching the fisherman out with their nets.... ..

Hamburgers cooked over a campfire, next to the roaring Dolores River while camping near Cortez/Mesa Verde CO. Along with icy cold beer and hubby. Then toasted marshmallows, of course.

Traveling across country to see my daughter I wanted to see the Leavenworth Prison in Kansas. I like weird stuff like that. Anyway, there was a very small Chinese restaurant/buffet in the town of Leavenworth that we stopped in and it had the most delicious assortment of fresh Chinese veggies I had ever seen. You chose what you wanted and they stir fried it with whatever meat you preferred. I don't know the name of it. I did get to see the prison although you weren't suppose to take pictures. My hubby parked the car and I pushed my way through the bushes to get a glimpse and a photo. My photo and dinner made my day.

When I lived in the Philippines there was a small restaurant owned and run by a nice black gentleman from Georgia. He served some of the finest Southern meals I've ever eaten. OMG chicken fried steak with country gravy, mashed taters, corn on the cob and a wonderful piping hot fresh from the oven individual loaf of bread which he served with a honey butter. Sometimes I even had room for his Banana Cream Pie.

I had some unbelievable Indian food in India last month. Every meal was better than the one before. Probably the most unforgettable one was when I bit into a piece of "tempura'd" vegetable that I thought was a string bean. It wasn't. I thought the top of my head was going to blow off. All I could go was gasp "yoghurt....yoghurt...." to the waitress.

In a little outdoor garden cafe in Vienna, Austria, having a huge slab of Wiener Schnizel covering my plate with a a side of purple vinegar cabbage, a cold beer and my dear cousin to accompany me and being in a country I loved. That was my heavenly memorable meal.
