10 dead and 40 still missing after a flash flood from all the rain we had Friday and Saturday.

I don’t personally know any of the folks who died or who are missing, though I have a couple friends who were frantic to verify that their loved ones were ok when they couldn’t reach them. Thankfully they finally turned up.

Is that actual Nashville ? My 1/2 sister lives in Old Hickory, which is n/east of Nashville.

Think I'll give her a call.

@rgp we live in Old Hickory too!! Your half sister is safe from the flood. The flood area is on the other side of town, 40-50 miles from us.

Some extended family on my son-in-law's side were on the outskirts of the flooding and their homes were slightly affected but they're safe. Very sad though...the current count as of this morning is 20+ people dead, dozens more missing, hundreds of people lost their homes. There is constant news coverage here and the devastation is wretched.

The White House is aware of the disaster, The President was on the news this morning offering his condolences and support.

Thank you !

She & her husbnd travel quite a bit ........ so her not answering her phone is not cause for concern.

I checked with my sister-in-law (she's in Nashville proper); fortunately no flooding in her area.

My father in law used to live between Nashville and Franklin in a steeply-sided valley. His house was way up on the hill but there are folks who live at the base of the valley, I wonder how they are doing-- if the Harpeth is out of it's banks... =(

I felt so bad for those poor residents when I saw the news. It was especially heartbreaking to hear that 7 month old twins were among the dead! They were swept out of their father's arms! That horror, as well as guilt (probably) will stay with him forever. I feel so sorry for him.
Ronni, I hope your friends find that their loved ones are safe. All this devastation is just awful. 😢

The devastation just won't stop.
So sorry for all those affected.......i know that doesn't bring any of who died back.....or homes to those who lost theirs.
I hope any here who have family or friends in this disaster hear from them and are safe and well.
