Not sure if this fits in this area, but it is an interesting Local legend. There was a local club/bar a couple miles down the road that called itself Devils Rock

Thank you for the interesting local 'color'. Puts Batavia on the map. But, I hope there is a lot more that is interesting about Batavia, too.

There is, for sure. Seneca indians lived here. So we are part of the Seneca Nation.
Not "interesting" per se, but a factoid that those of our generation will remember, in 1985, several people were taken hostage in Lebanon and held for 7 years. One of them, Terry Anderson, was an American journalist. He was born and spent much of his early life here, At peace with the past: Former hostage Terry Anderson enjoys retired life in Orange
